ABSTRACT
[4th floor, Howard House]

In the third lecture, we will discuss the asymptotic behavior of the matrix coefficients of the quasi-regular representation of G=PSL_2(C) on the space of square-integrable functions on G/Gamma where Gamma is a thin subgroup of G, e.g., the Apollonian group. We will explain how the case of a thin group differs from that of a lattice, and how the counting problem for orbits of Gamma can be related to it.
