Symbolic calculus for Fourier integral operators

ABSTRACT
The talk will discuss Fourier integral operators associated with canonical transformations. It turns out that there are several possible definitions of the principal symbol of such an operator, and it is not immediately obvious how to develop a symbolic calculus. I'll present some results in this direction and their applications in spectral theory.
