The Univesity's Open Units Scheme
The Univesity's Open Units Scheme gives undergraduates the opportunity to take a number of courses outside their main degree subject. (A list of particularly suitable units, some guidance and administrative information are available.) Mathematics undergraduates: Please consult the Handbooks for information on which and how many open units you may take.
Please note that you have to register for units in the school or department offering it (e.g., if it's a physics unit, register with the School of Physics). Whenever considering a unit in another school or department, please check with them to get up-to-date details and registration deadlines.
Single Honours students
Please refer to the Guide to Unit Choices or your Undergraduate Handbook for advice on Open Units you and how they may relate to your degree requirements.
Joint honours students
Consult the relevant handbook to check if you are permitted to take open units.
