Biographical Sketch

I currently hold a permanent post in the Probability and Statistics Group, School of Mathematics, University of Bristol. From 2008-2012 I held an MRC-EPSRC funded, personal fellowship in Biomedical Informatics. I was Senior Visiting Fellow at Synthetic and Systems Biology (SynthSys), University of Edinburgh during 2010-11.

I commenced post-doctoral research in September 2005 at the University of Oxford, first as Research Fellow in Econometrics at Nuffield College and then also, in 2006, as British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow. My D Phil thesis was awarded the Edgeworth Prize by the University of Oxford.

I hold a first degree in Biochemistry (Natural Sciences) from the University of Cambridge, and returned there for 2 years during 2008-10 as Senior Research Associate at the Statistical Laboratory (Centre for Mathematical Sciences) to develop statistical and mathematical approaches in the field of Systems Biology.
