This site is obsolete as of Nov 2006, but retained for the time being in case anyone still finds it useful. Many links are broken. Please see the new page and direct comments on it to maths-webmaster at bris dot ac dot uk.

We are a loose association of researchers in Applied mathematics, Pure mathematics and Theoretical physics. Interests include quantum chaos, random matrix theory and connections with number theory; asymptotics, periodic orbit theory, billiard dynamics, harmonic maps, liquid crystals and cosmology. For details of interests of each member, try the PhD projects page in mathematics, or individual home pages, available from the Members page.

We have strong links with other Bristol groups at the interface of mathematics and physics, including Quantum Information, Fluids, Centre for Environmental and Geophysical Flows, Applied Nonlinear Mathematics, the Laboratory for Advanced Computation in the Mathematical Sciences and the Laboratory for Applied Mathematics.
