Work

2013 to Present: University of Bristol
Research Fellow
In February 2013 I started a research fellowship continuing my investigations from my PhD into locally stationary time series analysis.

2006 to 2007: Peninsula Medical School
Research Assistant
I worked in the department of Epidemiology and public health. The group mainly conducted research on the epidemiology of aging and chronic disease.

Education

2007 to present: University of Bristol

MRes. Statistics - October 2007 to September 2008 (EPSRC and SuSTaIn funded)
As part of this MRes. I participated in the first APTs course. In addition to these eight modules I also attended courses on Advanced Time Series Analysis, Monte Carlo Methods, Graphical Modelling, Stochastic Processes and Stochastic Optimisation. In the summer I also spent three months researching the Shannon wavelet in the context of Locally Stationary Wavelet Analysis.

PhD. Statistics - October 2008 to present (EPSRC and SuSTaIn funded)
With Prof. Guy Nason I have been working on locally stationary time series analysis. In particular, Bayesian methods of estimating the evolutionary wavelet spectrum of a locally stationary wavelet process, with associated confidence intervals.

2005 to 2006: University of Southampton

MSc. Statistics with Applications in Medicine (EPSRC funded)
I studied a variety of techniques used within medical statistics including Survival Analysis, Repeated Measures, Clinical Trials and Epidemiology. The computer software used within the course was SAS, STATA, SPSS and S-PLUS. My MSc. project investigated a missing data problem when investigating associations betweent chronic diseases and genetics in an elderly population.

2002 to 2005: University of Plymouth

BSc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Statistics
My BSc. project was on the Time Series Analysis of Departmental and Total Sales for Debenhams Department Store Plymouth
