2 Minute Talks

Friday, 4th May in SM2

To start at 3.30pm, but this will depend on the number of people who want to speak.

To speak, email matthew.arnold@bristol.ac.uk with a title.

In the unlikely event that we don't have enough time to fit everyone in, preference will be given to people who've had the fewest opportunites to speak.

Steps for success

1. Talk for 2 minutes on a mathematical(-ish) subject.

2. Receive adulation from the adoring crowd.

Stuff available

PC and projector, blackboard and chalk, light to be seen with, and air to transmit sound.

Guidelines

1. The time limit will be strictly enforced.

2. You can speak about whatever you want, within reason.

3. Talking about your original research can be done, but is gently discouraged. There's not really enough time to explain your field, let alone talk about something new!

4. The time limit will be strictly enforced.
