  • Running: I've now run 10 half-marathons plus a hand full of races over short distances. Since the start of 2007 I've been taking running more seriously and have definitely caught the running bug. Credit here goes to the marvellous Fetcheveryone web site.
  • Cricket: I get people to play for a Maths Dept cricket team and occasionally play for the Laz XI
  • Skittles: I captain the maths skittles team, `The Inequalities'. We play in the University intermural league.
  • Linux: I once used to be a fan of the Debian distribution and currently use SuSe/Fedora.
  • Wolves: my footy team.
  • Formula 1 motor racing.
  • Gripes and Grumbles: My very own Room 101.
  • Music: Beatles, Stone Roses, St Etienne, Bach and Shostakovich. Desert Island Discs: St John's Passion (Bach), 1st Violin Concerto (Shostakovich), Tiger Bay (St Etienne).
  • So you think I'm a wierd mathmo ? Count yourself lucky - there's another Dr Richard Porter out there and he loves math.
