Syllabus
This is a first course on local fields and p-adic numbers.
I am planning to cover all the basics:
absolute values, completions, p-adic numbers,
non-archimedean local fields,
extensions of local fields,
ramification,
Galois theory.
Hopefully there will be time at the end to cover some additional topics, but that
remains to be seen.
Assessment
Through weekly homework problems.
