"It is impossible to be a mathematician without being a poet in soul."
— Sofia Kovalevskaya

My Work

I am a third year PhD student in the Department of Mathematics, at University of Bristol. I am working on mathematical problems in condensed matter physics. At the moment I am studying dynamic micromagnetics; looking for a proof of existence of travelling-wave solutions of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation (below) in a ferromagnetic nanowire.

Another research interest of mine is in soft matter theory, particularly liquid crystals. I previously did a research internship at Hewlett-Packard labs, numerically modelling bistable liquid crystal displays using Q-tensor theory, also an undergraduate project in Oseen-Frank theory for smectics.

My work is supervised by the dual wisdom of Jonathan Robbins and Valeriy Slastikov.
