Steven Perkins

About Me

I am a third year PhD student in Statistics at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Dr. David Leslie who also supervised me during my masters project in the summer of 2010.

I initially started as an undergraduate at the University of Bristol in 2006 studying a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, which I graduated from in July 2009. Since then I have continued on at the university, starting the 1+3 MRes and PhD in Statistics in October 2009, and sucessfully progressing on to the PhD part of this course a year later. I am grateful for to EPSRC for providing the funding for my PhD via the SuSTaIn programme.

Outside of university I manage and play for Torpedo AFC A Team, in the Bristol Downs Leagues. I have captained the University of Bristol School of Mathematics Cricket team from 2010 to 2012 and between 2002 and 2007 I played for Burridge Cricket Club, in Hampshire. During my undergraduate studies I played Badminton for the University of Bristol and previously for Henry Cort Badminton club. I am also a keen follower of tennis and most other sports for that matter!
