Number theory
Number theory is mostly concerned with counting things. It's easier being a number theorist than a model theorist because if parents/grandparents/strangers ask what one does, then one can reply that one counts things. This is generally preferable to replying that one proves that certain expansions of the real ordered field are o-minimal.
My own interests tend to lie in transcendental number theory, an area we know embarrassingly little in, despite it being over two hundred years old.
